John Higgins is a personal injury attorney at Mancini Law Group P.C., where he has represented injured clients since joining the firm in June 2020. His practice focuses on personal injury litigation, including automobile collisions, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, premises liability, dog bite cases, wrongful death matters, insurance coverage disputes, and declaratory judgment actions involving insurance policy defenses and coverage litigation.
John was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 attorney (2024).
John was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Western Michigan University before graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law (2016). While in law school, he focused on trial advocacy, developing litigation skills as a member of a nationally ranked trial advocacy team.
Before joining Mancini Law Group, John served as a public defender, gaining extensive courtroom experience and strengthening his commitment to client advocacy. He later worked at an insurance defense firm, where he tried more than a dozen cases to verdict and developed expertise in how insurance companies evaluate claims, defend cases, and litigate personal injury lawsuits.
At Mancini Law Group, John represents injury victims throughout Illinois and regularly handles arbitration, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, mediation, trial preparation, and insurance coverage litigation. His work includes disputes involving uninsured motorist coverage, underinsured motorist coverage, policy exclusions, insurance bad faith, cooperation defenses, and rescission claims.
Outside of his legal practice, John enjoys sailing, golfing, playing guitar, and cooking.
